- Keep common areas clean
All renters are responsible for keeping the common areas of the apartment clean. This includes cleaning your kitchen utensils and dishes after each use, sweeping and mopping all floors, and keeping bathrooms clean and sanitary.
Bedly provides cleaners to come and clean the common areas when a renter vacates the apartment. But outside of a renter moving out of the apartment roommates responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of the apartment.
If you are moving out of the apartment you are required to take all items you have purchased with you. This includes cleaning the fridge of any food and drink items you might have.
- Be respectful of other roommates:
Please be aware that each renter has a different work or study schedule so keep noise levels to a minimum. Please do not use any other roommates belongings or eat food that another roommate has brought, unless that roommate has give you permission to do so. Bedly does not get involved in any renter disputes. Renters are responsible for resolving all disputes amongst themselves. However if you would like Bedly to send out a email to all your roommates reminding them of the house rules we are happy to do so.
- Be a good neighbor:
In many cases Bedly does not occupy entire buildings so please be aware of your non-Bedly neighbors.
- Take out trash:
Follow local trash procedures. If you are not sure what they are, feel free to reach out to your Community Manager.
Overnight guests are permitted as long as your roommates are comfortable with them. Please be respectful of your other roommates and keep overnight visitors within reason. As a general rule, guests should not visit for more than a week at a time per month.
We also ask that you let your roommates know at least 24 hours before a guest will be staying with you at the apartment.
- Room switching:
One of the perks of being an approved Bedly renter is being able to move between Bedly apartments in different neighborhoods or cities.
You can switch to another Bedly room or unit anywhere you’d like with 14 days notice if you’re on our flexible term/month-to-month lease. For fixed term leases, you may switch at the end of your term.
In order to be eligible for the switch, the Bedly listing must be available no less than 14 days in the future. Rooms marked as "available now" or available within a 14 day window are not eligible for a switch.
Switching is completely free and you don’t need to complete a second application if you’ve already been approved for your first room.
